Some pictures from home

I find it odd that calling our new place in Marshfield "home" doesn't seem the least bit weird to me at all. I've felt at home there since the moment I set foot on the property..whereas the house I currently reside didn't feel truly like "home" for months..maybe even years after we had moved in.
The closing went smoothly and Mike and I spent the night there that evening. This is what we woke up to:

It was nice to wake up to quiet and to be able to drink my coffee on the front lawn under my willow in my pjs. I spent the morning with a smile on my face...it felt as though I had finally arrived at where I was supposed to be. I look forward to growing old there...
This last week has seen the kids and I driving there in the morning and spending the day puttering and exploring. Zephryn especially loves the pond...and I'm constantly amazed at the amount of diversity in the wildlife there....tadpoles...several different kinds of frogs...salamanders...weird water things that I don't know the name of (I really need a book) and dragon flies in blue and red and greens....

we've seen a plethora of snakes in and around the barn as well as a HUGELY fat toad. And birds...wow...all the birds...I can't wait to start getting pictures of them.
I won't be having to go anywhere to pick berries or fruits either...walking around the property I've seen tons of chokecherries, raspberries, apple trees (SOOOOO many apple trees..its crazy!) some weird berry I don't know the name of (again..i need a book) and so much more. Every day we find more turkey feathers in the yard, and I'm sure that we will soon be seeing deer in the back field. The property is literally bursting with life...it just makes me so happy.

I am so glad you are so happy. I would be, too. What a dream place you have moved to. I wish that we could do the same, but my husband's ex prevents that...at least for another six years. When will the sheep be arriving at your new home? (Oh, and I am expecting a ton of photos).

That is a beautiful new home you have there...I can totally see why you're in love with it, as I would be too.
